We are ambitious in our expectations for all pupils at Parklands Primary School. We are clear that we must support all pupils to make good or better progress in learning in every year group and subject area across the school.
Aiming High is our SLT led provision for more able pupils. The programme includes a visit to Oxford University each year. 12 Pupils from Year 6 participate in a range of activities at the university accompanied by Mrs Wilson and Mr Stevens. This will include an exciting ‘Meet the Archivist’ session, academic lecture, learning walk and the opportunity to discuss some interesting aspects of the history of University College. The link with University College Oxford will continue throughout the academic year.
University College Student Ambassador and Barrister Alexandra Wilson will facilitate a programme of workshops, debates and challenging activities in school for pupils in each year group. She will also provide mentoring for pupils aiming to study at Oxbridge or other Russell Group universities.
